Imogen works mainly in oil or acrylic paint, but has also used colour pencil and digital imaging to explore the things that interest her.

Her work is often based on nature and natural form – sometimes botanical, sometimes the human body. She is particularly interested in details, things we walk past easily but if looked at closely are beautiful and strange. The wrinkles on hands, the centre of flowers, a drop of water on a leaf.

She also enjoys exploring the juxtaposition of indoors and outdoors, distortion in images such as the bending of perspective in fish-eye lenses and experiments with depth of field.

Artists whose work has influenced Imogen include Pierre Bonnard, Georgia O’Keeffe and David Hockney.
